Military Record and/or Official Document Requests - Unit AssignedĬopies of military personnel records or documents can be obtained by various processes. The military service records for Veterans, Next of Kin (NOK) of a deceased veteran, and Retirees can be obtained through a couple of kind agencies outlined below. The Officer Selection Record (OSR), which is part of the MPerRGp, is created and maintained by HQ ARPC (Promotion Secretariat Division) for all ANG and AF Reserve officers. HQ Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) maintains the master personnel record for all Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserve (AFR) Airmen regardless of status.
The Master Personnel Record Group (MPerRGp) contains all permanent military personnel documents such as the DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, DD Form 4, Enlistment or Reenlistment Agreement - Armed Forces of the United States Oaths of Office, special orders, performance reports, etc and is electronically maintained in the Automated Records Management System (ARMS).
